In my role as Associate Director for the Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching (CELT) I especially enjoy discussing pedagogy with other professors, most of whom work outside of my discipline. As a Senior Professor of the Practice my career is focused on teaching and mentoring undergraduates and supervising graduate student teaching. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job has been the many collaborations I’ve been able to participate in, including advising student groups and honors theses, the design of new courses with my colleagues, developing an outreach program called Girls in STEM at Tulane (GiST) and team-teaching the Grand Canyon Colloquium. Developing friendships in Copenhagen has also shown me the influence of culture on attitudes about science and conservation. In the end, I am constantly learning from my students
